Deadpool's katanas are a set of sharpened swords composed of some unusual extremely powerful metal alloy capable of deflecting powerful attacks and impacts such as bullets or explosives.
Due to his extensive training in martial arts, Wade Wilson mastered kenjutsu even beyond of the finest human athlete as his natural abilities and mutation included superhuman reflexes and agility. Even so, it is unknown what kind of properties does Wilson's swords possess since they can take so much damage and still remain in great condition although it might be that his abilities are kinetic related so that he can slow down the process of impact in his field of action or environment.
Since Wilson also uses guns from time to time, he seems to preffer taking out his swords as they're proven to be more lethal than any gun.

- After Weapon XI is completed on Three Mile Island, Deadpool's katanas are surgically attached to his hands to create the perfect "mutant slayer" as Wolverine's healing factor was used in order to prevent the risk of infection and sudden death because of the procedure. Hi guys.
